At Deans Carpet One you will find a stunning array of solid and engineered hardwood flooring, available in a variety of species, colours and textures.

Types of Hardwood

Solid Hardwood planks have a thickness of ¾” and are available in widths from 3” up to 8” wide. Solid hardwood is affected by moisture and changes in temperature. When wood absorbs moisture it expands. When it loses moisture it contracts. Therefore solid hardwood floors should be installed into any room within your home that is above-grade, except bathrooms where there would be a higher moisture level.

Engineered wood flooring is available in widths from 3″ up to 10″ wide. Engineered wood flooring is typically made of 3 or more layers of real wood, cross directionally laminated and pressed together with a top layer of premium hardwood. These products are more dimensionally stable and can be installed on all grades, including basements and bathrooms. Engineered wood flooring is available in strip and plank form.
